I spent the last few days in Denver, Colorado at the annual conference of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. It was a great meeting in a very nice city.
As I was preparing to return to the Twin Cities yesterday, a num
ber of friends stopped me to warn me about the massive windstorm affecting the Midwest. Sure enough, my flight was delayed and it was not clear that I would be returning home. I am skilled at a number of things but wind calming is not one of them. I had two options: 1) get irritated and go negative; or 2) slow down and have a cup of tea. I chose the latter, savoring high tea at Denver’s historic Brown Palace. Having tea and treats in a beautiful setting was just the right way to turn around a potentially frustrating day.
Flights were indeed delayed, by quite a few hours, so I took my time to explore the airport. In one of the stores there, I found unexpected sage advice--on a magnet. I share it with you now with a reminder to find the best in the moment you are in.
May the light
always find you
on a dreary day;
when you need to be home,
may you find your way.
May you always have courage to
take a chance,
and may you never find
frogs in your underpants.
