My approach to therapy draws upon many different theories and philosophies, incorporating emotional, cognitive (beliefs and attitudes), spiritual and behavioral components. My approach is highly individualistic; that is, I draw on many possible ways to help each client in the way that is most appropriate for him or her as an individual person leading a unique life. The letters after my name indicate my credentials. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services, and I am licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Psychological Practitioner. I have had specialized training and experience in recovery from trauma and abuse, growing through grief, loss, and life transitions, overcoming anxiety and depression, and balancing life roles. I work with adolescents and adults, helping them with a wide variety of issues, such as: Depression, Adolescent issues, Anxiety Disorders/Phobias, Adjustment Disorder, Anger Management, Bipolar Disorder, Crisis/Trauma, Grief/Loss, Life Transitions, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Parenting Issues, Personal Growth, Relationship Issues, Self-esteem, Stress Management, Women's Issues, and Couples Issues. The work I do with clients is focused on healing from past or present emotional pain, or healing from emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. I help people who want to understand themselves better and who are ready for a change for the better in their lives. Lois Fischer received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1974 from Minnesota State University, Moorhead, and a Masters in Counseling Psychology in 2004 from Adler Graduate School of Psychology.
