Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) PDF Print E-mail

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common condition affecting up to 15% of the US population, and is more common is women than in men.  IBS has no single cause, and can be triggered by many factors or conditions in a person's life.  Unless properly treated, IBS leads to discomfort, abdominal pain, restrictions to daily routines, and marked disruptions to a person's social life. There are other conditions that can mimic IBS symptoms. Therefore, it is important to rule out the presence of other conditions before pursuing an IBS  treatment plan at PIH.

At PIH, we have treatments that address the many factors involved in activating and maintaining IBS.  In addition to offering medically supervised nutritional guidance, we teach clients how to manage the condition by addressing underlying factors that activate it in the first place, putting you back in sync with your own body.  A self-directed, self-regulation program is available, as are a number of holistic therapies.  The therapies we've developed are based on well-established approaches drawn from western and eastern healing traditions that not only reduce or elimiate symptoms, but help to restore your overall health, as well.
