In 1996, the U.S. Congress created the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, known by the acronym HIPAA. One of the features of this act is that is regulates and mandates the way in which private health-related information is handled by health professionals. It identifies what your rights are with respect to the privacy of health information that health professionals collect about you in the course of their work with you. Partners in Healing (PiH) is required to conform to the HIPAA regulations, as is every other health care provider. On the links that follow, you will find information about how PPP handles private health-related information. We are also providing you with downloadable copies of the HIPAA forms that we distribute to you when you arrive for an appointment to see one of our clinicians. Feel free to contact us with additional questions or concerns.
