Alana Riss Fine, PhD PDF Print E-mail

Alana Riss Fine has a B.A. in psychology from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology from Yeshiva University/Ferkauf School of Psychology at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine. She received extensive training during her internship at Coler-Goldwater Specialty Hospital in New York and predoctoral training at Bellevue Hospital, Baruch College, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Burke Rehabilitation Clinic. Alana spent the last number of years working at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York where she specialized in adjustment to health issues and worked with clients on short-term and long-term issues such as depression, anxiety, and adjustment to illness. She also served as the coordinator of a department-wide smoking cessation assessment program and worked with clients on a variety of behavioral medicine issues such as weight loss, sleep problems, and chronic pain. She has worked in clinics that specialize in cancer, cardiac rehabilitation, and HIV/AIDS.

Alana has a holistic approach in her work and focuses on the biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to physical and mental health. In addition to her work at Partners in Healing, Alana is the Coordinator of the Ethical Start program at the Early Childhood Center in St. Louis Park. Alana is currently licensed in Minnesota and in New York State.
