Cranio-Sacral Therapy PDF Print E-mail

CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. CST activates the body's "inner physician." Keeping in mind that it is the body's natural response to heal from injury, a CST therapist acts as an assistant or facilitator of this natural healing process. Through palpating of the bodyís tissues, the therapist comes to recognize, follow and support the impulses of this process as restrictions to healing are first revealed and then gain release at all levels of one's being. Lying on a treatment table while fully clothed, the CST therapist releases restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. By complementing the bodyís natural healing processes, CST is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.
